چکیده

Diaphyseal fractures of humerus are common, representing 3% all and 20% fractures. Though compression plate osteosynthesis is the gold standard, interlocking intramedullary nailing also a reliable option. In this present study we evaluated functional outcome diaphyseal treated with nails. A total 36 patients humerus, selected between October 2020 to May 2021 were managed by closed nail humerus. This was prospective followed up minimum 6 months. The primary measures assessed using DASH Score (The Disabilities Arm, Shoulder & Hand Score) Constant-Murley scoring system respectively. Secondary outcomes intra-operative conditions such as operative time blood loss post-operative complications. mean radiological union 15.7 weeks ranging from 14-26 weeks. All united including one delayed which at 26 our series, 4 had post shoulder stiffness prominent nail, 1 patient developed radial nerve neuropraxia recovered in 8 on basis Constant Murley score for function score. 69.4% got excellent results, 19.4% good 8.3% moderate/fair results 2.8% poor results. Interlocking relatively quick, minimally invasive, biomechanically sound, cosmetically better method internal stabilization shaft less time, infection lesser threat other Besides it allows early mobilization. With correct anatomical knowledge, preoperative planning, surgical techniques postoperative rehabilitation humeral viable option management fracture promising outcome.

Management outcome of closed femoral shaft fractures by open Surgical Implant Generation Network (SIGN) interlocking nails.

BACKGROUND Many hospitals in our country lack surgical expertise and operating room facilities like image intensifier and fractures table to carry out closed interlocking nails (ILN) in femoral shaft fractures. But availability of Surgical Implant Generation Network (SIGN) interlocking nails & nailing instrumentation have made open ILN of these fractures possible at very basic level of our heal...

Comparative multicenter study of treatment of multi-fragmented tibial diaphyseal fractures with nonreamed interlocking nails and with bridging plates.

OBJECTIVE A prospective, randomized study to compare patients with closed, multi-fragmented tibial diaphyseal fractures treated using one of two fixation methods undertaken during minimally invasive surgery: nonreamed interlocking intramedullary nails or bridging plates. MATERIALS AND METHODS Forty-five patients were studied; 22 patients were treated with bridging plates, 23 with interlocking...

Use of Titanium Elastic Nails in the Adult Diaphyseal Humerus Fractures

Introduction: Humerus shaft fractures in adults can be managed conservatively with functional braces or operatively with plate osteosynthesis or with intramedullary nailing. Conventionally humerus intramedullary nailing is done either using humerus interlocking nails or Enders nails. In this study we analyse the outcome of humerus shaft fractures (upper and middle third) managed with closed ant...
